# Edit plugin help

 * What’s the best way to edit/add codes to plugin php file (not css) without it
   being affected when the plugin is being updated?
 * If anyone can please help, it’d be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

 * I’d download a second copy of the plugin, having changed the name of the first.
   Use the first plugin (and edit that plugin), and have the second one installed
   but deactivated so that you’ll see when an update is available. Does that make
   sense?
