Support » Fixing WordPress » Edit Blog Entry Icon (Pencil) on Homepage

  • Hello! On my homepage, there is a pencil icon next to each blog entry that links to my wp-admin edit page… I’m not certain, but I think this could be showing up for the general public. It might have something to do with permissions I have set, but I’m not sure which file’s permissions I should be checking. I have checked the major ones and they all seem right at 755. Any ideas?

I am very new to WordPress, so still learning – thanks for the great help!

  • Only logged in admins see the edit function – unless you have given a user permission.
The permissions for this has nothing to do with the files. Check your user roles in your admin.
