• I am trying to use an Edge Animation in my banner, but it is breaking the responsiveness of my layout. I used Sarah Justine’s script (both with and without the modification recommended in the comment section at http://forums.adobe.com/message/5226992), but not only is the Edge animation not responsive, but it is causing a flexbox container on the page to also become unresponsive (or less responsive — it seems to add a “min-width” of 840 px or so). I’ve scoured the web for answers, but haven’t even found anyone who seems to have this problem. Hoping someone here can help. You can see the page in question at http://cometbang.com.

Hi, as stated in the FAQ, please check the console first. It throws multiple errors in your case. You seem to have copy and pasted the snippet from somewhere, the ” aren’t in the usual encoding so JS doesn’t recognize them correctly and throws errors.

Thanks for the response, Timm. Sorry about missing that in the FAQ — it probably would have helped me a long time ago. And thanks for the pointer to the quote marks. It’s a great plugin and I appreciate your taking the time to reply.

Okay, I’ve gone through my site and eliminated the Javascript errors I was seeing in the console, and I went back to Edge Animate and cleaned up the Sarah Justine code. I’m seeing a slight improvement in the site’s response time now, but I’m still having the responsiveness issue — the site is responsive until the browser window hits about 840 px, and then both the Edge animation and all other elements on the page stop being responsive. I’d appreciate if anyone can point to what I’m doing wrong.

Yes, without an answer to the problem, I went ahead and removed the Edge animation and replaced it with a Revolution slideshow of same. However, with today’s release of the new Edge Animation from Adobe, I am going to try it again. It looks like I will no longer need Sarah Justine’s code, and I’m hoping that’s where the problem was. But thanks for looking, Timm. I appreciate it sincerely.
