Support » Plugin: eBay Feeds for WordPress » Ebay RSS Malfunctioning

Ebay’s RSS Feeds are a mess right now. They are down, up, down, causing a lot of slow load issues etc.

I finally had to turn this plugin off today until Ebay gets their act together. So when I turn it off, like any shortcode device, the [..] feed text shows.

Fortunately, I put the feed in between div tags and was able to do a find/replace for the front part of the feed and force the div text to white so that it does not show up on my pages.

To the point, it would be really great if this plugin were to have a setting feature to “hide” all feeds, so that when issues like this occur, they will not muck up page displays. In other words, an on/off setting of some sort for feed displays?

    Sounds good 🙂

I’m going to add another option – a replacement text, so a link to the shop/eBay search can be replaced.

Writing this as I’m a bit busy this week (and I will forget). If anybody reads this and fancies being lovely and get hugs at the next WordCamp here is my github for this project – 🙂

But if not, I’ll look at it within the next few days.

    Cheers Will!

Right, introduced a fallback option – should stop it being **quite** as ugly since eBay are being rubbish at the moment.

    Upgrade to 1.3 🙂
