Easy Way to Authenticate for Comments

  • Hi everyone,
I am a bit new to WordPress but got an install going and like it a lot. I have it set so that people don’t need to be logged in to comment, so when they click on the link to leave a comment, there is a form that asks for their Name, url of site, etc. I was wondering if there is any way to put something in this form that would let them login with their Facebook account, OpenID, Blogger account, etc. I have been using a friend’s blog on Typepad lately and it has this option. It makes it so nice because then you see the users picture, they don’t have to register at yet another site, etc, etc.

Does this exist in WordPress? Is there a plugin that can help me do this?

    Thanks,
    Kristen

  • Hey, welcome to WordPress.

There’s a few openid plugins that you might want to look at (haven’t used any of them so can’t recommend one though), but try some out and you’ll probably find something to suit your needs.

I found it – it is the plugin from these people that will do it:

    https://rpxnow.com/

It was a little tricky to configure, but now it is configured and works great!
