Easy upload of an audio file to a post – Podpress?

Hi there,

I’m looking to add very easy podcasting functionality to a site I run which would involve the user having only 3 fields on the publishing page: Title, Post Text and Audio File upload.

I need to make it as easy as possible for users to upload files and attach them to a post as the users will be very technically inexperienced. The problem I have with all of the plugins I have found is that they have a two-step process where you first have to upload files via the Media Library, and then second actually copy that File URL to the podcasting plugin for inclusion. Path names and URLs will terrify my users so I’m looking for a really simply plugin which will allow the users to choose a file from their PC and will automatically upload and append that file to their post, playable via the Audio Player plugin or similar.

Does anyone know of a plugin that will do this?

If not, I’m not sure why Podpress, for example, doesn’t support file uploading within it’s structure. Podpress actually states specificially within the plugin that it doesn’t support uploading – does this mean it’s very tricky to implement, or impossible? I thought about trying to modify the plugin to include an upload option but wouldn’t want to spend hours looking into this if it’s not possible.
