Support » Plugin: Easy Modal » Easy Modal strips Contact Form 7 watermark classes

I’ve set up a contact form shortcode to be displayed once a button is clicked via Easy Modal.

The contact form displays and functions as expected with one catch, the watermarks fail to function.

When the same shortcode is embedded in a post or page, the contact form works exactly as expected, including the watermarks (click in the input element, and they disappear)

Typically Contact Form 7 will take the default value and place it as the title attribute then add two classes to the input element (watermark and another I can’t recall).

When using Easy Modal, the value remains (rather than having it transitioned to the title attribute) and the watermark thusly no longer functions.

    Can this be repaired?

  • Actually I think I have the order of operations wrong. It seems the title attribute is supposed to be set first by wpcf7, then the javascript is supposed to set the value to the title and add the watermark class to indicate the value is a watermark.

It seems the issue is that the title attribute is stripped from the input element, which causes the javascript not to function as it should.

The JS doesnt strip anything. Prints it exactly how its loaded. It may be that the JS call that creates the watermarks is not being called after the form loads.

As the latest build 1.1.9.8 is entirely rewritten i am marking this as resolved. If you have similar issue after updating then please repost it.
