Support » Plugin: Easy Code Manager » Easy Install and it Works

  • I installed the plugin over “CSS & JavaScript Toolbox.” As soon as I disabled “CSS & JavaScript Toolbox” I could finish the installation. Upon opening the plugin from the WordPress menu, I found it had recognized the code from the old installation.

The only hitch is that the short code is different. I found the new shortcode under Panel > Information in the plugin settings. After replacing the old short code with the new one (e.g. [ecm name=’yourcodeblock’]) all worked fine.

That’s the only use I have for it right now, so my testing is very limited. That’s why I gave it a 4 instead of a 5.

It’s running the Javascript calculator at
https://www.powertoexplore.com/calorie-calculator/ if you want to see it at work.

    Hi there,

I just wanted to thank you for reporting this to the community and for taking the time to provide a rating for us.

It makes perfect sense for Easy Code Manager to use the same database table structure as CSS & JavaScript Toolbox because there are thousands of active CSS & JavaScript Toolbox users. We would love everyone to migrate because we have massive plans for Easy Code Manager. 🙂

In fact, we have already added a number of new features and enhancements such as:

    • Code Beautify
    • Code Minify
    • Better support for HTTPS pages
    • New SQL Error Management System – no more SQL errors in the logs
    • Pages, Posts, Custom Posts, Categories and Tags are now shown in alphabetical order
    • Much more robust Installation System with better notification messages – no more hanging during installation
    • Code Block character limit extended from TEXT (65,535 characters) to LONGTEXT (Up to 4GB of data)

What is being worked on in the near future:

    • PHP version checker – checks whether the server is running PHP version >= 5.3.0
    • Database reports on the entire Easy Code Manager system status, which includes:
    • Reporting on all Code Blocks, Code Files, and Code Templates
    • Code block information such as Header / Footer, Active and Inactive
    • Reporting on all Shortcodes and where they are used
    • Reporting on Code Blocks used as Widgets
    • Reporting on the Pages/Posts that use Metabox Code Blocks
    • Reporting on Assignments – e.g. which sections of the site where the Code Blocks are being assigned
    • Reporting on Templates, which are being Linked or Embedded into Code Blocks

Thanks for using Easy Code Manager. 🙂

    Kind Regards,
    Damian Baker
