• Hi there,
I’m trying to install the wordpress, but when I go to the page what I get is this:
We’re having a little trouble selecting the proper database for WordPress.
    * Are you sure it exists? ( and it does, checked)
    * Your database name is currently specified as a38oneco_blog. Is this correct? ( and it is, checked 10 times )
    * On some systems the name of your database is prefixed with your username, so it would be like username_wordpress. Could that be the problem? ( no is not because I tried and I still get the same error)
… what do you do if any of the 3 listed don’t seem to be the problem?!
Btw … I’ve got nothing to do with any sort of programing and I would apreciate if you could reply in a language that someone like me would understand 🙂
    Thanks,
    Denis

  • Do you have the database address right? By default wordpress uses ‘localhost’, but I know my host, Infinology, keeps the databases on their own server.
You may have to specify a different database address (in the wp-config.php file)
Contact your host to find out where it is for sure.

Well it takes some experience to read mysql install errors. Is a user set and activated in mysql ?
