Just thought I’d put this up here in case anyone else is pulling their hair out like I was. I am running easy fancybox as well as w3 total cache on cloudfront cdn and using timthumb. For some reason easy fancybox and w3 total cache could not play nicely together at all. Fancybox images simply would pop up in a new browser window instead of being displayed nicely by jquery. The problem turned out to be with w3 browser cache settings – if you have “Prevent caching of objects after settings change.” enabled in w3 total cache it will break fancybox, for some reason putting the query string after the image URL breaks easy fancybox. That’s it. Hope this helps someone out!
