Easier linking to pages in WYSIWYG editor

  • When trying to create a link to another page in WordPress, it’s hard to remember what that page’s URL is – the only way I know of is to go to the page and copy it from the address bar. I know in TinyMCE you can create a link list which shows as a drop down list of predetermined links with name/URL (See http://wiki.moxiecode.com/index.php/TinyMCE:Configuration/external_link_list_url ). This would make things significantly easier when putting together content for a website. Is there a plugin already available that adds this functionality? I’ve gotten good at setting up WP for my clients, but have yet to venture into the plugin making arena.

I haven’t heard of such plugin for WP, but it looks like quite easy to make 🙂

The only thing would be exactly what to include in that list and how and when to generate it, as if it’s generated every time TinyMCE loads, it probably will make it even slower and will require more memory (imagine a site with 1000+ posts/pages…).
