E-Mail Notifications for 3.7 Automatic Backup Updates (6 posts)

Does anybody know how to configure e-mail notifications for the automatic background update feature that was released with 3.7? I couldn't find any documentation on wordpress.org, but found the filter below on another site. My goal is to only receive email notifications on failures. I don't know what to put in the $core_udpate and $result parameters.

    apply_filters('auto_core_update_send_email', true, $type, $core_update, $result);

I would guess wp-config.php where other update-related things go:

Thank you both for the reply. The codex didn't have any information on email notifications, just enabling/disabling the updates. Does anyone know what to put in the $core_update and $result parameters for the email notifications?

I am working on sorting things out for the various automatic-update options other than e-mail notices, but I think that would follow adding something like this in wp-config.php:
    define( 'WP_AUTO_UPDATE_CORE', minor ); /* default setting */
Look for "6. Manipulate whether notification emails are sent" here:

    Here you go:

    Automatic Updates
    Automatic Updates Enabled?
    Automatic Core Update Level?
    Permit Automatic Plugin Updates?
    Permit Automatic Theme Updates?
    Permit Automatic Translation Updates?
    Advanced Settings
    Disable VCS Check?
    Update Emails Enabled?
    Send Emails for Successful Updates?
    Send Emails for Failed Updates?
Send Emails for Critically Failed Updates?
    Send Update Debug Emails?
