# E-mail new post

 * Hi,
 * I searched the wordpress database but I can’t find the right plugin for the following
   issue.
 * > I have some friends I want to e-mail when I place my post. But not all my friends,
   > I want to choose them when I create my post (like categories) by checkboxes.
   > When I place the post my friends (with the checkmarks) should recive a message.
 * Does anybody knows if there is a plugin for?

 * I didn’t find a plugin that does exactly what you are looking for so I threw 
   a quick one together. Just download the file, toss it in your wp-content/plugins
   folder, activate it.

 * I just tried your plugin. But i don’t recieve the e-mails after I setup a test
   user with my own email adress.
 * The plugin is not totally what I mean. Because now my friends are becomming users
   of the website. 😉

 * The plugin uses the wp_mail function. I was able to successfully receive an email
   when I just tested it now. If you create a user do you get an email Notification?
   Are you on a local install?
 * Sorry, misunderstood. I thought your friends would be users. It can easily be
   set to accept an email address or set of addresses to send to. I’ll create an
   example of that a little later today.

 * first time I got an warning that I entered a wrong email address. But it was 
   my mistake, I added a space after the comma 😉
 * If i may make one suggestion. It would be great to combine the users / e-mail
   field. In other words: an optionpanel for the plugin, where I can add the emails
   and give the email a name. And when I post a message I can check the name in 
   userspart. Because now I don’t have to remember the e-mail adresses. 🙂

 * Interesting idea. Not sure I will get around to that in the near future, but 
   for now you can create your friends as users and leave their access to subscriber
   only. No need to send them a new user notification. WIth them added as users 
   you can now use the side users panel to select their name and send an email.
