    Hi @ibenic,

i’m using this plugin first time.
Since i’m based in germany, i appreciate the email activation for GDPR reasons.
But this feature seems not functionable since the subscriber want to get his link twice in a second email!

    Any ideas?

    Thanks

    GeorgBNM

Fault in Postman SMTP is “No recipient forward path has been supplied”
    If this helps.

    Hi @georgbnm,

what do you mean not functional? Does the activation part work?

The link is provided in the email if you put it there, but the email is sent only once. It might be sent twice due to some issue with the wp_mail or how some plugins extend it. I’ve tried it myself (and use it myself) but I’ve never got the same email twice. What is the second email about? Have you tried testing it with some other SMTP plugin?

I’ve now searched and also seen that this issue happens with Postman SMTP plugin. They often recommend looking into the log of sent emails but I did not find anywhere where they provide a solution for it..

    Hi @ibenic,

    thanks for the fast reply.
I mean the activation mail is not sent.

I didn’t know that the development of Postman SMTP was discontinued, sorry.
Does the successor Post SMTP work with your plugin?
Or do you have an recommendation?

I have to use some mail plugin for some reasons, btw.

    Thank you!

    Hi @georgbnm,

I also have to use mail plugins for sending emails on some servers because sometimes they’re not configuring for sending emails also, and that’s fine.

One of that I’ve tried and used is: https://wordpress.org/plugins/easy-wp-smtp/

    Hi @ibenic,

testing this (and others) but it does not change anything! 🙁
With BCC email in Postman the email will be delivered to that mail, but this is not wanted.

All other emails will be delivered!

    Do you have an idea?

    Thanks in advance!

    Hi,

I am not sure I understand your issue. What other emails?

The subsbcriber will get the sign up email when he/she joins. The activation link should be placed in that email.

I am not sure why you dont want to send that email. Or are you talking about something else?

    Hi @ibenic,

    sorry for misunderstanding.
For sure i want to send this email, but this is not functioning with your plugin at this time with my configuration.

I’m describing the issue once again.

    1. Setting up SimpleGiveaways emails with activation link.
    2. Testing subscription with some own email adresses but the emails were never received.
    3. Testing with Postman SMTP, Easy WP SMTP and others.
    4. In Postman SMTB you can define a BCC email adress for all emails sending smtp through it
    5. The email from your plugin is delivered only to this BCC adress, but not to the desired email from the subscriber
    6. In the logs the error message is: “No recipient forward path has been supplied”
    7. All other emails from other plugins like ninja forms etc. were delivered, so i think the issue is from your plugin

Hopefully you can follow my problem!

    Thanks for your help!

    Hi @georgbnm,

there was an error with the new field manager and I’ve fixed it now in 2.16.1

That should be the reason behind your error. I’ve tested it now once more and the emails are going through.

Now for the why: The internet is a wonderful place full of very nice people and a few very bad ones. I’m sure everyone here is very nice however, by giving some ones keys to your house you are trusting they wont steal anything. Likewise the person who takes the keys is now responsible for the house FOREVER.

If something was to go wrong, then you the author may well legally become liable for damages, which they would not normally have been as their software is provided without warranty.
