# é html character coding

* Hello,
* I have following 404 error log for an URL error containing an é :
**/wp-content/
uploads/2020/01/Bonne-Anne%CC%81e-2020.png** while file : **/wp-content/uploads/
2020/01/Bonne-Année-2020.png** do exist.
* Probably related to the 2 possible é html coding:
**%C3%A9** (U+C3A9): Single
character é or **e%CC%81** (U+0065 U+0301): Combining character e + ‘ ́ I don’t
kwon what WordPress is doing.
* When I try to create a redirection with following URL Source syntax
**/wp-content/
uploads/2020/01/Bonne-Anne%CC%81e-2020.png** When saving, it is recoded as **/
wp-content/uploads/2020/01/Bonne-Année-2020.png**
* What would you suggest to solve this?
