E-Commerce/Social Network Site

    Hello,
    I have a client that wants a website that allows users to start their own profiles and sell their own products from it. In addition, he wants users to have social network features where users can comment, follow, and share their favorite uploads from other users. I know I could navigate through implementing either the e-commerce or social network aspect separately, it’s doing it together as one site that has me a bit lost. To put it simply: he wants Dribbble except you can BUY the artwork.

    I don’t think you want to use multisite network to try and do this. In multisite WordPress, each individual site has silo-ed content. While you can pull some of the content (for example, posts, or posts from a certain category) into the main site, each site is separate.

    I’m probably not the right person for recommending how to combine solutions for this, but you might look at making it a membership site – one where the individual members get their own page to put up their uploads – and combine that with something like Easy Digital Downloads. Maybe…
