Support » Fixing WordPress » Dynamically append text to title attribute of links with target=_blank

  • Hi–

Hopefully someone can kickstart my brain and get me rolling in the right direction.

I need a function to append the words “opens in new tab” to the title attribute of links on my site that have target="_blank".

The idea is to make links more accessible to those who use screen readers.

I’m on 3.4.1 (server’s php version isn’t updated to 5 yet), using a twentyten child theme.

    Thanks in advance!

Why are you spawning new windows on links in the first place?

Thanks for your question, esmi. This just concerns external links within the site content, links that take the visitor to another domain. Links to pages and posts on my domain wouldn’t spawn new windows.
