Dynamic Text using AJAX

Hi guys, thanks in advance for any help.

I’ve been looking for ways to display a small snippet of dynaic/live text on a site (actually a score, it’s the local team’s website.)

Earlier on today I found this: http://www.labbookpages.co.uk/web/realtime.html (The “Dynamic Text” example near the bottom)

I’ve tried inserting reloader.js into the themes JS folder by FTP and a liveData(.html?) but have no idea where to put it, it’s currently sitting in the top directory.

The top set of HTML I’ve just put into the page and (sort of) correctly displays “Loading Data…”

Been searching for something like this for ages (or a similiar plug in?) Can anyone help? Thanks 🙂
