Dynamic product comparison query

  • Hello,

I need help in building a dynamic product / price comparison engine. Since it is an affiliate site, all the order and payment processing will be handled by them.

Currently I am thinking of using:

WP customer review – so users can rate and review stuff
Buddypress – Social profiles and gamification integration
Hosting – VPS (will upgrade as site grows)
Price comparison – Skimlinks (what you guys think?)
OneAll – social login and profiles
Dynamic product comparison – ? (Woocommerce? no idea here)
No. of products – 250k+ (estimated)

Elasticsearch.org and Redis – I just discovered them while researching. Still reading and understanding. I think I will hire someone to integrate them. Specially elasticsearch.

    1.

So I dont know what to do for dynamic product comparison. Is Woocommerce the right solution? Can it create dynamic product comparison pages on the fly? Or does it creates a comparison page for every combination?

    2.

Also I would like to know what you guys think about Skimlinks? It will definitely makes things a lot easier. It provides all the feeds automatically and there is an API that will allow you to customize the look and how it pulls data. So I dont have to spend hours and hours pulling feeds and working with them. Please have a look. It would be really helpful if existing users could comment and share their experience.

    3.

Anything else that I am forgetting or have not considered? Or any substitute to what I am preparing to use.. I thought of dedicated eCommerce solutions like Magento and Shopify but they are too complicated and difficult to use. Since the number of pages are not insanely huge I guess wordpress will do alright.

Thanks a lot for your time and effort. Greatly appreciated.
