Dynamic Charts - Auto Update (7 posts)

I have a database for an app that is constantly being updated, and I would like to have some graphs created that represent data from the various tables. Is it possible for the graphs to automatically update from the tables?

    Hi there!

Here is a link on a wiki page, where you can learn how to use dynamic data for you chart.

Thanks madpixels. Only issue is I think with that system, if the data changes, I need to refresh the chart every time. I am looking for the charts to auto-refresh periodically, so when the data changes, the website is automatically updated.

Oups sorry, looks like i haven't pasted a link in my previous comment. Here it is: https://github.com/madpixelslabs/visualizer/wiki/How-can-I-populate-chart-series-and-data-dynamically%3F

Unfortunately I can't help more than giving you a link on documentation. You have quite unique requirements, which require custom implementation. I would like to suggest you to look for a freelancer who will help you, if you can't do it by yourself.

Great plugin. However, I have exactly the same requirements as AppsThatFly.

Would it be possible to see a worked example of how these hooks can be amended for a very simple table? Unfortunately, I have no experience in this area and I have no idea what to insert at // do your stuff here?

    Thanks.

    Hi @weepingtiger

Would it be possible to see a worked example of how these hooks can be amended for a very simple table?

Sorry, but I can't give you an example because there is no sense in it, I don't know what are you trying to do, how your site is built, etc. Additionally your needs require advanced knowledge in PHP and JavaScript development. If you don't have it, then such example will be useless for you.

I would recommend you to find a freelancer to help you.

Hi madpixels! This is some awesome code you have here!

Reading the first paragraph of the wiki page, I'm not sure if I understand exactly the way global filters work.

I understand the custom filter is something very specific I can use for a single graph, hence the chart ID and series and data parameters.

My guess is that the global filter, on the other hand, would collect data from a single source, a DB query or a function, for example, and use it for multiple graphs?

Could you give an example of where or how you would use the global filter, in relation to the WP posts count (wp_count_posts), for example?

I'll give it a try and post results here later on.
