I am trying to add dwg file to a client site, which has been successfully done through an ftp upload. I have linked it to my doc icon but when clicking on it I get sent to a 404 page.

Does anyone or has anyone successfully opened .dwg files on wordpress? I would live to know how….quickly.

A .dwg is an AutoCAD file format and needs to be downloaded, not a link. If you are in AutoCAD, you can open locally served .dwg’s through links, I believe remotely loading dwg files would not be a good idea.

Thank you for replying. So by uploading them in a zip I can make them downloadable?

You can make a ANY file downloadable but that is not the same as linking directly to the file.
