    Hi all,

    I’ve read the Duster sidebar width is 187 pixels, and the showcase sidebar width is 188 pixels.

    I am trying to use the widget called Buy This Book by Claire Ryan. The widget requires an image to be the exact width of the sidebar. I’ve tried both 187 and 188 pixels but the image will not load. The precise size of each was square, or 187x187 and 188x188.

    The website is http://www.tanyathompsonbooks.com/ You'll see the widget on the right sidebar at the top. I've named it "Buy This Book Troublesome Widget" so it will be easy to spot.

    If anyone could tell me either what the exact width of my sidebar is, or a way to find it, I would be incredibly grateful. Or if you could simply tell me how many pixels wide the image needs to be, that would be great too.

    Thanks so much,

  2. Hi Tanya, the right sidebar is set as a percentage in this theme. Here's the CSS for it:

    #secondary {
    	float: right;
    	margin-right: 7.6%;
    	width: 18.8%;

    I used the Web Developer toolbar and it shows the width as 188px:

    #secondary.widget-area Width = 188px

    Where does this widget come from exactly? I'm not familiar with it, but you could always try asking for help from its developer. If it's this one, you can try the support forum here: http://wordpress.org/support/plugin/buy-this-book

    Let me know how it goes!

    Hi Kathryn,

    Thanks so much for helping. I had read the width was 18.8% but I had no idea how to calculate it without knowing the width of the page in total. But anyway, I emailed the creator of the widget directly and she was incredibly helpful. She looked at my site and essentially said the picture I had set in my post as medium sized would fit the sidebar exactly, and it did. But it is nice to know the 188 pixel width as well.

    Thanks again. The help on this forum is always so kind.

    Kind regards,

    Oh, and widget comes from the free add-ons available in WordPress.org

    It's a clean, sleek beauty of a buy-now option.

  5. Glad you're all sorted with this, thanks for letting me know.
