Duplicated post not adding new link to Facebook

    Greetings,

    I’m trying to use your plugin (Version 3.0.3), together with the Add Link to Facebook plugin (Version 2.3).

    When I publish a new post in WordPress, the Facebook plugin automatically creates a link to the new article on my Facebook page.

    I noticed yesterday that when cloning an existing article, this behavior does not work. The new post is created as expected, but when I publish it, the Facebook link is not generated.

    Hi,
    probably there is a custom field cloned by my plugin that prevents posting to Facebook (Add Link to Facebook believes it’s already been posted).

    I’ve asked the authors the name of that field so we can solve the issue.

    The problem was present with Publicize from the Jetpack collection of plugins, but it was solved in a recent version of Duplicate Post.

    I’ll keep you informed when they answer.

    Hello,

    I just tried upgrading your plugin to the latest version (3.1.2) but unfortunately the problem I reported earlier persists, so I’m still unable to use it.

    Did you ever hear back from the Add Link to Facebook guys ?

    Hi, sorry for the delay
    I’ve never received any answer…
    I suggest you consider switching to JetPack Publicize if you need my plugin, I’ve enforced and tested their compatibility (and it seems it’s more supported).

    Hi,

    Thanks for following up, and for the pointer to Jetpack Publicize as well. I wasn’t aware that Jetpack also included social media tools. I’ll look into this as an alternative to Add Link to Facebook plugin.
