# Duplicated HTML code

* Hey!
* I don’t know why, but If I check the source code of my web stories now, the HTML
is duplicated, like in this exemple:

* This did not happen before:

* I am sending this because I had more than 1.000 Session per day with my stories
and now it’s basically zero (it’s all valid on the tools and the content has
even more quality, attending to basically every warning of the plugin).
* The only thing that changed was that I started using Wp Rocket and Imagify to
compress images. But this duplicate HTML issue happened before that…Is that normal?`

could you please share the following details to try and determine the cause:
* 1.) Does this issue occur if Web Stories is activated alone? Have you tried to
use the [Health Check & Troubleshooting plugin](https://wordpress.org/plugins/health-check/)
and enable its [troubleshooting mode](https://make.wordpress.org/support/handbook/appendix/troubleshooting-using-the-health-check/#troubleshooting).(
Note: this mode only affects the experience of the logged-in user.)
* – Enable the [Web Stories plugin](https://jmp.sh/dw3iCRp) alone and let me know
if the issue is present.
– Enabling plugins and your theme one by one in this
mode to pinpoint which is the conflicting plugin/theme. – Note you can [disable troubleshooting mode](https://jmp.sh/uErQi8t)
from the plugins page.
* 2.) Please share your [Site Health](https://i.imgur.com/Rtkmsba.png) information

* There are no duplicate elements in my story and the same happens on preview mode
also!

URL which you shared and it’s validated perfectly without any errors. I am still
testing on my end. Can you share if this issue subsides when you remove the highlighting
on the text?

* It says its valid for me as well, but I really thing there is something wrong
because of this big fall an duplicate issue.

* Sorry, I just tested your theory for the highlights, and that is it, it worked
now! I hope that was the problem for my traffic decrease ;-;

up that I’ve confirmed this duplicated element is printing correctly in the code
and as expected for the text highlighting feature. Note that it should not cause
any issues with the site.
