The plugin upon form submission is sending 2 emails, one second after the other, please see screenshot https://tinyurl.com/y7ndfs9f, I have already troubleshot with a default theme, and the plugins inactive.

@thedeeper the only ones that are standing out to me as possibly contributing to duplicating emails would be the Contact Form 7 plugin as well as WP Mail SMTP. More the SMTP plugin than Contact Form 7.
@jpwpbuffs Do you have similar plugins installed on your site where the issue is occurring?
My local dev copy where I do my dev work for the plugin doesn’t have SMTP configured at all, so it’s not immediately easy for me to try and recreate with that. I do know that I just tested and only got one email notification with the signup, so I’m still not able to recreate as a whole.
We would need elevated access to attempt any sort of troubleshooting at this point with the install, as these are presently the only reports we have of duplicate emails getting logged and sent at this time.
We can provide contacts to reach out to, for off-forum support, if either of you want us to go that far in.
With the help of @thedeeper we were able to confirm the behavior even more than we were already believing, but also allowed for us to dig in on an install where it was happening.
We believe, and it’s pending confirmation, that some issues around the “No Refresh”/AJAX integration was not behaving like it should have been and thus causing double submissions. The AJAX would process and trigger the email, but then also the form would refresh and submit like forms do, and that is causing a second round of email sending to occur.
We are confirming intended changes and fixes around this and once we have confirmation, the fixes will go out with our next release, which we hope to have out within the week.
