  • Try adding category to your url – e.g. etc.

That will let WordPress differentiate these urls from page or posts.

There are plugins that allow you to remove category from the url and still have it resolve as expected.

I should have specified that I am using that plugin. Either way, this will not work.

WordPress will not allow two categories to exist with the same slug, regardless of if they are nested or not.

I’m looking for a plugin that will accomplish this.

It seems that this is “baked-in” to WordPress. The most common solution, I have seen is to create a custom post type (e.g. products) perhaps as a hierarchical type.

    What an incredible oversight.

The WP team really needs to focus on the taxonomy of WordPress. There’s no logical reason for the inflexibility here.

Did you ever find a good way (which works nicely) around this?

Needing the same thing with MarketPress shopping cart, so bumping.
