Duplicate site / back up site

    Hi,

    Firstly – love this plugin! Thank you so much.

    Just one question, in case my site were hacked or site broken. Hence I need to upload the backup site (which I downloaded via the duplicator plugin) Can I do that? If so, what’s the best way to do this? do I need to delete all the files in my broken site/hacked site and start new by installing duplicator plugin, then upload/deploy the backup files (both installer & Archive files) to the broken site?

    Hi Cory, Thanks for your reply. Much appreciated.

    I’ve done duplicating a site to the new site previously using this ‘duplicator’ plugin. Brilliant! love the plugin.

    My questions though.
    1. Can I upload the backup installer & Archive zip files) back to the original site? Let’s say the original site was hacked or broken?

    2. and if I need to duplicate to another URL site, does the original site needs to be active/live?

    Hey Andrew,

    1. You should be able to do this without any issues. I would just FTP the hacked site off to your local computer and with a clean directory place the installer and archive files and install.

    2. Nope. Once you move a site the files technically become a new site nothing about the old site needs to be intact.
