    The only thing that this plugin does is to set the featured image for you automatically. And WordPress can set only one thumbnail/featured image per post, there’s no chance to duplicate it.

    Your theme decides how to show the post thumbnails and what size use for that. So you should ask to your theme author.

    You’ll see two pictures presented on the blog post linked to above. Every post that I had not manually set the featured image for now has two pictures.

    Yes, the plugin worked great at creating thumbnails for those posts that did not have a featured image manually assigned, but for about 400 posts that were not set manually, the plugin not only added the thumbnail to the blog home page (where articles are summarized) but also to the full post itself…

    … which means that now the overwhelming number of posts on my blog have two pictures, duplicate pictures — one big, one small.

    Can this be reversed?

    Like I said, the way the content are shown in your site is set by your theme. There’s nothing related to this plugin about that.
