    Thanks for pointing that out…Gmail doesn’t care about this, so it never flagged it as a problem in my deliverability tests. I will roll this change into the next release.

    @xnau.. in my opinion your code is 100% correct. It is the creator of the email that specifies the content type and thus the mime type. IMO this is a PHPMailer bug, for duplicating the MIME-Version header after it already exists.

    Yes, I would agree, and there is little I can do about it…of course if the headers are wrong it can be fixed using a filter, but most users shouldn’t have to do that, and it won’t help if PHPmailer is going it wrong.
