Hi and thanks for using TSF! 🙂 Before we dig into this, it is best to ask authors of the theme for support, since you are a paying customer they should tell you how their theme is working with microdata and if it is compatible with SEO plugins. Could you approach them first? It would also help others using the same theme, having potentially same question as you do.

Please note that we aren’t reluctant to help you, if theme authors find a compatibility problem with this plugin, we would gladly look into possible solutions.

My completely wild guess is that the theme is not going to have issues with TSF, since the link you sent is WP using Yoast SEO, so I am assuming that the theme is also compatible with TSF. But as I said, check with theme authors first. Is this possible? Thanks!

    Hi lebaux,

The SEO Framework works well with the theme, and I mean that they each generate metadata, should i disable the metadata generated by the theme?

This is just a theme and there is no SEO plugin, i think you mean the official website.

Hi again, thanks for clarification. Having duplicate metadata is not good, but the main reason I was redirecting to you theme authors is the fact, that if you disable theme metadata, you might miss some metadata that TSF is not generating (hope it makes sense).

For example: Theme allows you to add product price. The price is then added by theme as metadata and displayed like this. To my knowledge, TSF is not able to push price metadata (yet) so if by disabling theme metadata function you lose this piece of information.

Please understand that we’re simply unable to support premium theme compatibility since we can’t download, use and test the theme without buying it. Hence my recommendation to ask team behind the theme. They’ve built it, they can reach out for us here or github and most importantly they can download TSF plugin for free. Thanks for understanding!

    Hi lebaux,

I checked that the SEO Framework could generate all the metadata for the theme, with no missing metadata.

You mentioned the price is in the official website, not the theme, so should not have this problem.

Thank you for your detailed explanation.

Hi @weiching, thanks for understanding! We discussed your issue with @cybr (TSF plugin author) and I just want to further clarify the screenshot I posted above. Rating, number of votes, price and availability information are generated by WooCommerce. So TSF and Woo are not conflicting, quite the opposite – they work neatly alongside in harmony.

Back to your original issue – if metadata from theme are no better, it is safe to turn off theme metadata generation to prevent duplicates and conflicts. It is also logical – your theme is visual thing, it should manifest mainly design. So if you want to switch themes in the future, you don’t have to lose possible SEO benefits, since they are carried out by plugin.

Unfortunately customers want from themes lots of functionality, that should be carried out by plugins (prime example: themes from themeforest). These themes have lot of plugins build-in (revo slider, visual composer, etc.) and make migration to other theme almost impossible, not to mention how they affect website speed. But I am getting sidetracked 🙂 I hope I helped you at least a bit, have a nice weekend.

    Hi lebaux,

Thank you, I have disabled metadata in this theme.

    Have a good weekend.
