• I’ve noticed that I’ve seeing duplicate meta descriptions tags on all my posts. This wasn’t the case yesterday. I haven’t installed any new plugins. I’ve searched for an answer but those asking the same question have remained unresolved.

    Here’s my site: http://www.gearsoftech.com

I’m using the Thesis theme; I’m not sure where the 1st meta desc tag is coming from as I’m not using any other SEO plugin. I’d like to stick with the Yoast desc tags I’ve been using all along.

  • Yes, I too am getting duplicate meta title tags when I activate this plugin. I’m running WP 3.5

Im getting the SAME thing guys. I add a CUSTOM SEO TITLE and Custom Meta Description on the post editor page and whats happening is its including the custom TITLE & Desscription AND ALSO the TEMPLATE TITLE & TEMPLATE Description within the code on the page.

This is what is says on the post editor page “If the meta description is empty, the preview shows what the plugin generates based on your meta description template.” Basically, its NOT following this rule.

Even though Im adding a custom title and description since there are 2 copies of both in the code, and the TEMPLATE shows up first in the code, g–gle is indexing the TEMPLATE title and description and NOT my custom TITLE and Description.

BUMP – someone please figure this out.

    thanks

    I think I found the answer…

Its in the theme, Im using the thesis theme.

Take a look at this forum post for more info.. Im testing it out now to see if it will fix my issue.
