 * Hello,
    I am trying to duplicate into a subfolder that represents a subdomain
   where I can work on extensive changes without affecting the live site. When I
   run the installer, I get a warning that says
 * [Warn] Directory/file count check found [18] files/directories.
    Any file/directory
   currently in the root path will be overwritten if it also exists inside the archive
   file. This check shows as a warning if it detects more than 10 files/directories.
   The notice is to prevent users from accidentally overwriting a large amount of
   files.
 * I certainly don’t want to overwrite any files in the root! This is my entire
   purpose for cloning the site. Is it really going to overwrite files in the root?

 * Hey Rachel,
 * The directory where you place the installer and archive should be empty. If there
   are other files in that directory then they may get overwritten. Its basically
   the same thing as manually extracting the zip file on your own computer.
 * If you unzip the file in a directory and the archive.zip has a directory called“
   foo” and the directory were your unzipping to as a directory called “foo” then
   the unzip process will overwrite the “foo” contents of the zip with what is in
   your local “foo” folder. Unzipping on top of other folders has the probability
   of overwriting existing files if the names match.
 * Hope that helps~

 * I’m trying this also. My idea is to move the live site to a subdomain like xx.
   site.com Then I can work on an updated site.com . Unfortunately, there does not
   seem to be a way to recover the data into a newly named database. So, it rebuilds
   the database into that location and removes the old one. Both can’t seem to exist
   under the same domain.

 * If your looking to sync your database data then you might try this plugin:
