Duplicate images in gallery

    I may be going about this wrong, but to add a new gallery I do the following.

    Add Post.
    Format Gallery.
    Add Images, set gallery options.
    Set image as Featured
    Save.

    This adds an image/link to the home page. The only problem is that I get the images I “inserted” displayed and then below that the gallery displayed.

    Am I going about this wrong?

    Hi Slartifartfast,

    I had the same problem. What I did?

    Format Standard
    uploaded picture to media
    From media set as featured image
    insert to post.
    add content (optional)
    Delete image in post and publish.

    When I did that repeatedly, I had only one image. I noticed If I set format gallery and delete, the image appears as featured image but not in the blog/post. But when I set format as standard and delete, the image will appear in the post and as featured image.

    With this theme you don’t need to use the [gallery] shortcode in parallel with the gallery post format. The theme handles them as 2 different things.

    The [gallery] shortcode adds a gallery with or without a link to the file attachment.

    The gallery post format adds a gallery with a link to an image lightbox.

    Using both at the same time creates 2 galleries.
