[Resolved] Duplicate "HOME" Link in Navigation

  • I have an issue where my main navigation is showing TWO
“home” links. You can view my site here: http://www.comoxvalleyguide.com/.

Using default menu with theme. Site is too large to effectively create and manage a custom menu.

Any idea why this link is appearing twice?

Here are some weird related issues:

Under Settings/Reading, I have a static page noted for my “home” and “blog”.

    – If I set “front page” to blank, the home page shows my blog.
    – If I set “latest posts” as home page, the home page loads perfectly with navigation fixed BUT the /blog/ page is blank

Not sure what to do. This duplicate home link is driving me crazy!

  • OKAY, I have sort of fixed this. I installed “PageMash” and HID the home page from the navigation. It still shows up, but with the duplicate removed. The end result is exactly what I want, but not really happy installing an extra plugin to make it work.

If you know of a better more permanent solution to fix this without using a plugin I would be extremely grateful!

I have to ask you, how do you add Navigation menu?
If you are using Appearance => Menus you have full control of your main menu(add/remove pages). Also remember to set your menu in “Primary Menu” section.

Let me know if you need help with this 🙂
