• Hi there,
I’ve been using your theme and recently noticed that all pages are producing (at least) duplicate h1 tags, which is a major disadvantage in terms of SEO.
Are there any plans to fix that?
    Thank you in advance!

    Google doesn’t say it’s a major disadvantage, don’t worry.

Thank you very much for your reply Andrew.

You are right, Google doesn’t say it’s a major disadvantage.
As far as I could find (because unfortunately people have different opinions on this), it can make sense to have more than one h1 tag if you have different sections / articles (though many avoid it even then).

This is not what’s happening in this theme. Here one h1 tag with the same text is shared by all pages, and then there is at least one more h1 tag with the respective page’s title.
I’ve only read bad things about this practice, and haven’t seen it in any other theme I’ve used.

Maybe the theme developer has different information on this, but from what I can tell he’s nowhere to be found…

Yeah that’s rubbish, the logo shouldn’t be the main heading since it doesn’t exactly summarise the content on the page. It might do on the Home page but not the other pages.

I checked the theme’s demo out and the Home page used level 1 headings for sections of content that isn’t right. Outlined in red: http://snag.gy/VL2xg.jpg

It may be better to go with another theme. I think you’re guaranteed to get a good heading level structure with themes tagged ‘accessibility-ready’: https://wordpress.org/themes/tags/accessibility-ready/

Heading levels are important for assistive technologies like Screen Readers. People who can’t see the page can see that content in one section belongs to another section through the heading level structure.

Yes, the theme has issues in terms of h1 Headings.
Unfortunately I am kind of stuck with it at the moment, since I noticed the h1 problem too late and the website I’m using it for has already gone live.
However, I’ll check out the themes you mention for future websites. I must say I hadn’t given ‘accessibility-ready’ themes the attention they deserve.

Once again, thank you very, very much for taking the time to help me out :)!

    Best,
