• I just created my first blog and i found that there is 2 identical H1 Headings. Only 1 is visible on the page. The other is hidden.
I only want 1 H1 heading, not 2 and specially not 2 that are the same.

What do I have to do to have only 1 H1-heading tag ?

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

  • Hello,

1 Page Title – go to Customize > General options > Page Title section and change the heading tag

    2. Single Post Title – go to Customize > Blog > Single Post section and change the heading tag

    This does not help.
I want to be able to control what the page title is the H1 heading

    example:
Page Title tag : Tachileik Aug 2019 (pt 1) | Slimnics
page H1 heading tag: Tachileik Aug 2019 (pt 1)

And i want the h1 to display over the background image at the top of the post. As it is.

    https://www.slimnics.com/tachileik-aug-2019-pt1/

I don’t want there to be identical 2 x H1 heading tags for the post. ( i can see when inspecting view page source that this is now happening)

I want to display the title of the page over a background image at the top of the blog post.

Im not sure but, Do i need to make the question more clear? I assume this is a very basic SEO control.

If you want to keep h1 tag for page title, then set it to h1 from the setting (Customize > General options > Page Title section). And change the post title tag to h2 from the Customize > Blog > Single Post section. After that, there will be no more duplicate h1 tag.

Thank you, but Sorry, you are not providing the answer I am looking for.

Yes, it is changed to a H2 heading, but it is still a duplicate title, which i do not want.
I want a unique title tage, a unique h1 and a unique h2….these are the utmost basics of gest practice html page structure that I just cannot appear to adjust.

    <h1 class=”page-header-title clr” itemprop=”headline”>Tachileik Aug 2019 (pt 1)</h1>

    <h2 class=”single-post-title entry-title” itemprop=”headline”>Tachileik Aug 2019 (pt 1)</h2><!– .single-post-title –>

Yes, it is changed to a H2 heading, but it is still a duplicate

the h1 and h2 are now identical. I dont want this at all. i want to be able to create a unique title tage a unique h1 and all unque heading tags.

I dont understand why this is being so difficult to solve. It really strange that it cannot simply be done.

Have you turned off showing the Page Title completely?

Then you can create your own H1 and other heading tags in the body of the page/post.

I do this and I don’t get dup warnings.

    general options -> page title

You can also change the page title to be hidden and with a Div or P tag if you like on that screen too.

yes but then i dont get the nice background image with the title over the top.

There should be an option to input a page title and a H1 heading.

    single-post-title entry-title

    page-header-title clr

These two should be able to have different text. But i cannot see how to do it.

whats up with this. Why are these one in the same?

    display title and display heading

headings and titles are not the same thing.

What if i want to display the heading on the page but not the title. It cannot be done, because if you disable the title the heading automatically gets disabled too.

This is the most strangest set-up to me.

I don’t have that issue. And I use these settings on occasion. Change Heading to Enabled and Title to Disabled. Don’t use Default.

I checked your site and you are not using post title. Instead of hiding with css, go to Customize > blog > single post section – find elements positioning – click on the eye icon of the post title to remove it.
