Support » Plugin: Contact Form by WPForms - Drag & Drop Form Builder for WordPress » Duplicate fields added to the end of a form

  • Resolved n2016

    This is showing on all sessions, including with a clear cache.

    An extra field is being added, which is sporadic and can be the email, name, number, message etc. Mesmerize theme is being used at the moment.

    It looks like it is adding <div class=”wpforms-field wpforms-field-hp”><label for=”wpforms-11493-field-hp” class=”wpforms-field-label”>Email</label><input type=”text” name=”wpforms[hp]” id=”wpforms-11493-field-hp” class=”wpforms-field-medium”></div> to the end of the form after the check box, but again this varies depending on the random field showing up.

    At a loss for what to do! Contemplating signing up for premium, but there’s no point if it doesn’t work now! Same issue on all pages and posts.

    Hi @n2016,

    It looks like your theme has styles that accidentally force our honeypot field to display. A honeypot field helps to catch bots trying to spam your form — as the field isn’t meant to be visible to humans, we know it’s a bot when this field gets filled out on your form.

    We can make this field hidden again, though, with a little CSS:

    .wpforms-field-hp {
        display: none !important;

    In case it helps, here’s a tutorial from WPBeginner on easy ways to add custom CSS like this to your site.

    Hope this helps!
