A client of mine is using WP4.1 and Events Manager 5.5.5 with Events Manager Pro 2.3.9 and is receiving duplicate emails for every person who tries to book a spot in an event. Is this a known issue? Can it be fixed?

can I know which payment gateway you experienced this and maybe you can post this in the pro forums instead.
