Support » Plugin: Geo Mashup » “Duplicate Entry” error message kills entries!

  • Hi, Dylan. Just in the past few weeks (since creating the billing account with Google Maps), I’ve been receiving the following error message any time I enter a locations that’s already in the Geo Mashups database: “Duplicate entry ‘44.0121231–92.4802017’ for key ‘latlng'”

This causes the entry not to “take”, so the article I’m geolocating doesn’t appear on our article map. I have to create a unique location in order to get it to work, which is a pain in the butt.

Is there a fix for this?

  • Same for me.

For locations you want to re-use, enter a “Saved Name” and save, then choose that name from the saved name dropdown when you want to use it again.

Thanks for the reply, Dylan, but that’s no good. I’ll be adding thousands of articles from all over the planet in the coming years, and saving / finding names on a list will take a lot of time. Why did it change? It used to accept duplicates with no problem.

+1 for accepting duplicates again. It’s very tedious to save and use from a list.
Besides that, you can’t edit the list from the GUI.

I think I found the bug: https://github.com/cyberhobo/wordpress-geo-mashup/issues/818. Working on a fix now.
