Duplicate entries in the PHPMyAdmin area

  • So I went through a lot of pains to finally get Multisite to NOT create subsites with messed up URLs, but I still have duplicate tables or whatever you call them in the PHPMyAdmin area.

    For instance:
    wp_4kegu2_users
    wp_4kegu2_users (1)

    A few pieces of info:
    – When I upgraded to the stable release of 3.0 I was told a duplicate network was detected.
    – I battled poorly formed URLs of my subsites due to DreamHost code in the wp-config file.
    – I have no idea if these duplicate entries really effect anything, or how to effectively remove them without messing anything up.

  • Anyone have an answer for this one? I’m still struggling :\

Make a backup of your database.
Use phpmyadmin to delete (drop) the duplicate tables.

Ok took care of it. Everything seems to be functioning normally so far.
