    I have had this issue for 12 months or more and despite my best efforts (reading numerous support threads) I have been unable to discover the solution.

    I post articles on my website from the back-end and certain users have been setup as authors to do the same.

    When a new article is posted or a comment is made, everyone one of my subscribers and authors receives duplicate emails. It is only a small number who use the site but it is still an annoyance to receive two notification emails each time an article is posted or a new comment is made.

    Is there a way to troubleshoot why this is happening?

    Apart from that, it’s a great plugin.

    Thanks for your message.

    I’m sure we can work out why this is happening. A few questions for you:

    1. Are you using Gutenberg?
    2. Are you using another type of page builder for posts?
    3. Do you have any membership plugins installed?
    4. Do you have any social plugins that auto-tweet / auto-post articles to social media when you publish a post?

    Hi thanks for the reply and apologies for not getting in touch sooner. In answer to your questions:

    1) I don’t use Gutenburg
    2) I am using default WordPress to build pages
    3) I have no membership plugins installed.
    4) No I don’t tweet any posts as the site is semi-private.

    Hi @dsanney,
    Thanks for clarifying.

    Can I confirm that you’re using the latest version of WP and BNFW?
    It sounds like it might be a plugin conflict where another plugin is registering something at the same time as your post is saving and it’s causing BNFW to trigger twice.

    Please can you make your way through this document and let me know how you get on?

    Sorry about that and Merry Christmas. I keep losing the email thread on my phone. Now, after several complaints from the small user base on my website, I want to concentrate on getting this fixed.

    I can confirm that I am using WP 5.3.2–en_AU and BNFW Version 1.7.5

    Happy New Year.

    The issue I have with the proposed solution is that I have 23 plugins to work through to identify which one is causing the issue. When I send a test notification to myself I only receive one email, so I’m not convinced that this method will help me identify the weak link. Any thoughts or suggestions on how to troubleshoot?

    Thanks for bearing with me whilst I was on holiday over Christmas and New Year.

    Are you able to identify a specific user that is consistently receiving duplicate notifications and ask them to help troubleshoot the issues by deactivating all plugins and tested one-by-one? I appreciate this may be tedious but I’m fairly convinced it’s a plugin conflict issue at this point.
