• Stripe showed duplicate charges on our stripe account. But there was actually one charge taken out. Stripe script is set to manual due to conflict with woo commerce stripe.

We had two logs that are exactly same, except payment id’s. The time stamp is exactly same.

    Hi @joyspeace,

Apologies for the slow turnaround here!

To clarify, you are seeing two charges on Stripe side, and the money is actually taken out of the donor’s account two times?

We have a known issue (soon to be patched) where the Stripe Checkout gateway creates a double-webhook and essentially notifies the website (incorrectly) that two donations have taken place when only one actually took place. But if the donor is actually getting charged twice, that’s not something we’ve seen, and we’ll need to dig in to replicate it.

Is it something you can reproduce readily, or did it just happen that one time?

Errors that are not reproducible are harder to pinpoint and fix, so the more details you can give us to be able to replicate a problem, the better.

Do you have a testing or staging environment where you can reproduce the issue? That would be ideal, because then you could temporarily deactivate all other plugins and switch to a default theme to test. Some webhosts provide staging sites for free or a minimal charge.

Once we get a problem replicated, we can give those steps to our development team to have a look.

Note again that if this is actually a double charge on the donor’s card, this is the first we’ve heard of it, and we take it very seriously.

Your success with online donations is our number one priority. Let me know how I can help.
