• Hello All,

I am developing a WordPress site for a client that sells tents. I’d like to configure the admin area so that all the pages are in pages, posts are there for news stories, etc and then, this is the big question, I’d like a duplicate of the Posts admin section called ‘Tents’ to keep this completely separate. Is this possible?

There are many tents (100+) and therefore this is why I want to keep this separate. There will also be many, many custom fields and it would probably just lead to confusion if news articles and stuff was all in with the tents too (even if they were all setup correctly within categories).

Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

  • I’d like to be able to do something like this too – I want to start by simply renaming “Posts” to something else, like “Store” or “Products”. I’m setting up a site with an eshop shopping cart, and it is counter-intuitive for the people using it to go into “Posts” to set up their products. In other cases I might use “Posts” for something different like job listings, news, quotes, member profiles, etc… I can envision a scenario like the mattponts’ where – even if you could rename ‘Post’ – finding a name that applies to apparently vastly different categories would be difficult. I agree that it would be nice to be able to present them separately.
