# Dump Xamp before Windows install?

 * I use my windows computer to test my setups before installing online. Should 
   I eliminate the current xamp installation? The info in the Windows installer 
   info says Xamp won’t work if its added. I’m confused.

 * Not sure what exactly you’re asking here but Xamp should not have any affect 
   on whether the site can be put online or not. Xamp is for local setup/testing,
   etc but should have no connection with whether you host the site online or not.

 * I was referring to the Microsoft Web Platform Installer (Web PI)
 * In step 1.3 it says “Once Web PI is installed, neither XAMPP nor any other web
   server will be able to use localhost to host a website locally on your machine.“

 * Gotcha. I’m not actually familiar with that setup but based on the message you’re
   sharing here it looks like they won’t work together. Again, not familiar so there
   could be a workaround – I just don’t know what it would/could be.
