Dummy needs help

    I’m posting here because I spent 37 minutes looking for ANYWHERE to post a ques on themes but stumbled on this page. (Admin move if required)

    I was using ThemeIsle theme as my blog ‘skin’ but tried to change that to Starter Gazette but I am having shocking troubles trying to customise it. In fact when I go to the “customise” >> Themes it shows that ThemeIsle is still the activated theme and I can’t seem to get anywhere. Even the ‘live view’ to the right of screen shows the old layout but if I log out and go to my blog it shows the new (uncustomised) layout.

    It just seems that ThemIsle won’t allow my dashboard to change over. I just want to be able to post my travels to the blog for my family/friends overseas and also have a few ‘spare posts/pages (?)’ to add non-trip related posts.

    Note I am a 65 yr old, self taught, non-tech, dummy who needs even the basics explained in monosyllabic words. I have tried reading as much as my old eyes can (till my eyes are sore) but just get more and more confused. I think the problem may be in my heirarchy/parent/child structure but I get confused about that.
