• I’ve not used this module and wondering if I am doing something wrong.

I did dry run that shows 4,000 or so changes to be made. I scanned the list. It looks exactly right.

I go back to run for real by unchecking ‘dry run’ and then ‘save changes to DB’. I click ‘do search & replace’ and not much happens.

I assume it’s going to take a while to make so many changes, but nothing seems to be in motion. No msg indicating completed. And no changes visible on any of the pages.

What is going on? Thank you.

I am running latest WP on WP Engine

  • no we’ve got more to do !!!!

Kimbert, I think he means he hopes you didn’t only give it 1 star! 😉

Also, could you say how you got it to work in the end?

3 hours later… I have just given this plugin 5 stars and a review! 🙂

It was wonderful …once I found out the ‘little’ mistake I was making, haha!

I’m wondering if you, Rene, might put a ‘note’ for this on the plugin main page as I can well believe that’s it a mistake that a lot of people might make?

I found that the text I was doing the search for was not completely identical on all the pages. I had 3 different ‘versions’ of that text, with just one small word, and even just an extra 2 spaces, that was different.

Once I realised this (quite by luck!) and did searches for each of the 3 variations of the paragraph, it worked fantastically and now have all the site up to date (unless I find I had a ‘4th version’ tucked away somewhere, haha!)

A really great little plugin and I do thank you very much 🙂
