I’m afraid that I haven’t been able to replicate the issue on a test site.
Please could you try wiping the UpdraftPlus settings on one site where this issue is occurring (via the Advanced Tools tab), re-authenticate with Dropbox, and try saving your settings?
Does the issue persist in this case?
Okay, here is what I’ve done.
1. Made a simple change > Changed the retention value
2. Save Changes
3. The Remote Storage Authentication box comes up > I complete set up again for Dropbox
4. Advanced Tools > Wipe Settings
5. Set up backup to Dropbox
6. Repeat steps 1-2 and then I have to authenticate again
This is the case with 30+ sites.

Is there any one of these sites that you’d be willing to let us log in on to take a look? We haven’t been able to reproduce it on any of ours, so need to be able to look at a site where it occurs. If so, let us know, and we can give you details of somewhere to send them.
Does the PHP install have Suhosin? Suhosin can be configured to silently delete submitted data, making it disappear. My first guess would be that it’s doing this with UD settings.

Unfortunately, the email address was valid for a week only. I then extended it for another week in case you were still interested in pursuing it, but that has also passed.
