Support » Plugin: External Media » Dropbox Add Media Not Showing

  • Hello! I enabled the Dropbox plugin and added the API key but nothing is showing in the Add Media area. Any suggestions?

Feel free to email me at [ Redacted, support is not offered via email, Skype, instant messenger, etc. ] if you want to take a look at the backend of the website.

  • Hi, I have this issue as well? If I activate the OneDrive option in settings it appears, but not DropBox (FYI – I have a dropbox key and have that copied into the settings, but don’t have one for onedrive – just did that as part of my troubleshooting)
    Thanks, Bruce

And now I need to redact all of the author’s replies in these forums. Great.

@cybersprout Never offer anyone access to your site. Anyone who accepts that risks getting their plugin pulled from this site. That’s going to far and plugin author’s already know this.

Please don’t make that offer again. If the author accepts, and it’s clear that he did, then the author gets into trouble here.

@bjohns0203 If you need help then per the forum guidelines, please start your own topic.

    You can do so here.

@minnur I’ve deleted your offer to login to your user’s site. I’m am 100% sure you mean well but please never ask for credentials on these forums.

    https://wordpress.org/support/guidelines/#the-bad-stuff

Now for the why: The internet is a wonderful place full of very nice people and a few very bad ones. I’m sure everyone here is very nice however, by giving some ones keys to your house you are trusting they wont steal anything. Likewise the person who takes the keys is now responsible for the house FOREVER.

If something was to go wrong, then you the author may well legally become liable for damages, which they would not normally have been as their software is provided without warranty.

Please be aware that repeatedly asking for credentials will result in us asking you to repeatedly stop before escalating up to the plugins team.

There are many ways to get information you need and accessing the user’s site is not one of them. That’s going too far.

    You get the idea.

Volunteer support is not easy. But these forums need to a safe place for all users, experienced or new. Accessing their system that way is a short cut that will get you into real trouble in these forums.

@jdembowski thanks for your work. And I apologize that you had to go trough all the posts and delete my messages.

To be honest I am embarrassed by this situation. Never crossed my mind to do any harm to anyone’s property, but clearly having access to someoneelse site is an issue.

It was extremely hard to troubleshoot the plugin in the beginning and once I found a simple way to solve it I kept using it. This is my fault, just followed the same approach that worked in the past.

Thanks again for your work and keeping discussions safe.

Minnur, when someone replies as well as you have it cheers me up.

Thank you, I really appreciate your understanding. I am sure everything will be fine going forward.
