 * Hi all,
 * I have the plugins called: advanced-cache.php
 * at the drop-ins section for a long long time until one day I uninstalled the
   supercache plugin then it is gone.
 * And I installed the total cache instead and it is fine until a week after, all
   in sudden the same plugin “advanced-cache.php” appeared again in the drop-ins
   section on my wordpress.
 * I tried to deleted it few times via ftp, but the file is back after I resfresh
   the wordpress dashboard page snd I login the ftp again, then the same file is
   there again .
 * What can I do?
 * Is it harmful?
 * Should I uninstall the total cache ?
 * Thx

 * It’s part of your caching plugin, don’t remove it without removing the main caching
   plugin. 🙂

 * Because it’s part of Total Cache too. 🙂

 * There is nothing to fix. The file is part of W3 Total Cache.

 * It should have been there since the beginning, so I’d assume the better question
   would be, why was it hiding for a week? 🙂
 * I’m not sure, to be honest, but it is where it’s supposed to be now, so there
   really isn’t anything to worry about.

 * Thank you.
 * And actually what is drop-ins?
 * I try to search on wordpress.org but it seems hard to find out to know what it
   is about.

 * A drop-in is essentially a plugin itself which is required by a primary plugin.
   Rather than telling you to go out and install a required plugin separately, it
   comes with the primary plugin for convenience and so you can’t delete it, since
   it is required. 🙂
 * They really aren’t all that common, to be honest.

 * If we deleted the main plugin should we go into ftp and delete “advanced-cache.
   php”. Could the mu-plugin have any negative effects like the problem we are having
   now with my posts and theme not updating? Thanks for any help!
