Drop-down or sub-menus not showing on iPad

The navigation menu at the top of my website has drop-down menus that appear when you hover the mouse pointer over them but those drop-down menus do not show on an iPad. The buttons that have drop-down menus are also links to other pages as opposed to having their links be “#” that would just reload the current page.
